MATANMI (LOVE)

Matanmi, a beautiful dame
With an attraction like a burning flame
Her regalia as white as an alabaster
Her visage sparkles like a twinkling star
Matanmi is harmless
Yet blameless
Blessed with an aura
That brings forth euphoria
Matanmi is peaceful and calm
Talked about in the book of psalm
Matanmi does not despise
Nor possess a haughty eyes
Matanmi cannot kill
But a balm that can ill
Have I said too much of matanmi
She means a lot to me.

Alas! Matanmi is here no more
Taken by an enigmatic carnivore
At the river down the town
The news swamped the town
Soon, rivulet of tears begin to drop
Like eternity, seeming ne'er to stop
My heart became heavy
Oh! What a tragedy
Indeed a tragedy
The whole town is unhappy
Cos Matanmi that holds our town
Could be below the soil now.

So I search, searched for days
With sweat running across my face
Day and night in vain
If only for Matanmi's remain
Thought thorny forest and perilous river
I search, my heart ponder
Is that all about Matanmi
Eh! Wail, oh! Matanmi
Like a withered flower, I dropped my head
I couldn't hide the tears I shed
Will I ever see her again
I weep in excruciating pain
My visage rupture in lugubrious frown
For in vain have I searched the entire town
Matanmi is no where eyes can see
But I believe she is not dead still.
